It is often assumed that the Church is in the business of making people feel guilty and miserable about themselves, and that the way to enjoy a guilt free existence is to stay away from the Church! Is it possible that the opposite is true? Perhaps the Christian faith is not the source of guilt, but the cure for guilt. The Apostle Paul puts it this way: not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith. So often the world declares, you are not good enough,but Gods promise, made tangible in the Sacrament of Holy Communion, is one of acceptance, forgiveness and love.
